Calgary Roughnecks
The Calgary Roughnecks are a team of North American National Lacrosse League ( NLL ), and have their registered office in Calgary, Alberta and play since 2002 in the NLL. The team is one of three Canadian franchises in the league.
History
In spring 2001, it was announced that the Calgary Roughnecks at the time the tenth team in the NLL is founded. On 24 November 2001, the team made its debut in the NLL also against the new franchise the Montreal Express. The Roughnecks lost the game with 17-32. The game wrote NLL history as the encounter with the most goals.
In the 2003 season they were able to qualify for the first time for the playoffs, failed there but clearly the Buffalo Bandits. In 2004, she reached the last qualifying spot for the playoffs. In the divisional semi-finals they beat in a tight game, the San Jose Stealth. After winning the division final against the Colorado Mammoth, they eventually also won the final of the Champion 's Cup against the Buffalo Bandits.
In the 2005 season the Roughnecks played a very good regular season and took first place in the Western Division and were automatically qualified for the divisional finals. There they lost to the Arizona Sting.
In the 2006 season the team was eliminated early, as they failed to score a goal against the Colorado Mammoth.
