Calle Järnkrok

Calle Järnkrok (* September 25, 1991 in Gävle ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who is since March 2014 at the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League under contract on their farm team, the Milwaukee Admirals, playing in the American Hockey League. His father Tony was also a professional hockey player, just like his cousin Elias Lindholm.

Career

Calle Järnkrok began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Brynäs IF, with the U20 junior he won the SuperElit in the 2008 /09 season. For the first team Brynäs the Center was in the 2009/10 season his debut in the Elitserien. He scored five goals in 38 games and had seven assists. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2010 in the second round than a total of 51 players from the Detroit Red Wings.

2012 Järnkrok received a NHL One Stieg contract term of three years, but remained at first on loan at Brynäs IF. In the main round of the 2012/13 season he was top scorer of his team with 42 points scorer. In March, 2013, after Brynäs was excreted from the Elitserien play -offs, Järnkrok was summoned by the Red Wings to their farm team, the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.

On March 5, 2014 Järnkrok was transferred together with Patrick Eaves and a third-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2014 in exchange for David Legwand of the Nashville Predators.

Internationally

For Sweden Järnkrok took part in the U18 World Youth Championship in 2009 and the U20 World Youth Championship 2011. At the World Championships in 2013 in Stockholm and Helsinki, he was the first part of the Men's National Team and won the gold medal with this.
