Calmont (Aveyron)

Calmont (also called Calmont -de- Plancatge ) is a commune with 1999 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Aveyron in the Midi-Pyrénées region. It belongs administratively to Rodez arrondissement and is the largest town in the canton of Cassagnes- Bégonhès based on the number of inhabitants.

Geography

The municipality is situated approximately 45 kilometers north-east of Albi and 12 kilometers south-west of Rodez. Neighboring municipalities are:

  • Luc- la- Primaube in the north,
  • Flavin in the Northeast,
  • Comps- la-Grand -Ville in the southeast,
  • Sainte- Juliette -sur- Viaur in the south,
  • Manhac in the west and
  • Baraqueville in the northwest.

On the eastern boundary of the municipality of Viaur runs on the western tributary rivers be Nauze.

Transport links

The place is located off over regional transport links. In the far north to cross the National Road N88 and the D888 road department the municipal area. In Viaur Valley the D902 runs. Around eight kilometers south lies the airfield Cassagnes- Beghonès.
