Camarate is a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Loures and Vila, just a few kilometers northeast of the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. The municipality has a territory of 5.7 km ² and has a population of 19,946 people (as of 30 June 2011).
Prime Minister Francisco Sá Carneiro was killed here in 1980 deadly with his wife and a minister in a plane crash, the circumstances remained unclear.
