Campo de Cariñena

The Campo de Carintilde is a Comarca (administrative unit ) of the Aragon Autonomous Community in Spain. It is located in the province of Zaragoza between the rivers Jalon and Huerva and has an area of 772 km ², 10,501 inhabitants. The capital is Carintilde, also the largest of the 14 municipalities ( municipios span ) who belong to the Comarca.

The Campo de Carintilde located in the southern center of the Zaragoza province and is bordered to the west by the Comunidad de Calatayud, in the south of the Campo de Daroca, in the east to the Campo de Belchite and to the north by the Comarcas Valdejalón and Zaragoza.

Besides Carintilde include the communities Aguarón, Aguilón, Aladrén, Alfamen, Cosuenda, Encinacorba, Longares, Mezalocha, Muel, Paniza Tosos, Villanueva de Huerva and Bella Vista to Comarca.

In the Comarca viticulture is the outstanding and well-known industry. Since 1935 wines with denomination of origin ( Appellation ) may be sold. The area used for growing grapes comprises 17,908 acres, on which grapes are grown for approximately 300,000 hectoliters of wine.
