The Cape Leveque Road is a Outbackpiste in the north of the Australian state of Western Australia. It combines the Broome Road north of Broome to the Cape Leveque, the northern tip of the Dampier Peninsula.

Course

The Outbackpiste branches about 10 km north of Broome on the Broome Road to the north and leads to North Northeast. After about 108 km Beagle Bay is reached, where a tank possibility. Next, the path leads to the north - northeast by the Aboriginesreservat Beagle Bay to the settlement Lombadina where again is a gas station. From there, is reached after a further 14 km, Cape Leveque.

Importance and road conditions

The Cape Leveque Road is important for the supply of the communities on the Dampier Peninsula and is therefore maintained by the Broome Shire.

From Beagle Bay to the north it is paved. The southern section is maintained poorly. Many sections are a washboard slopes and must be locked in the rainy season because they are flooded and impassable. Generally, the use of a four-wheel drive vehicle is empflohlen for the southern section.
