Carey May

Carey May Edge (born May; born July 19, 1959 in Dublin) is an Irish long-distance runner, who had their greatest success in the marathon.

In 1980 she won the premiere de Dublin Marathon in national record time of 2:42:11 h A year later, she became the first Irish marathon champion, and 1982, she did better than second in the San Francisco Marathon this mark to 2: 38:32 and arrived at the European Athletics Championships in Athens on the 18th Place.

1983 and 1985 she won the Osaka Women's Marathon, and put it on two more records ( 2:29:23 ) and at the World Athletics Championships 1983 in Helsinki, she took 13th place, a year later she came at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles on the 28th place and finished sixth at the New York City Marathon.

In 1985, she was fifth at the Pittsburgh Marathon and seventh at the Tokyo International Women's Marathon.

On 1 June 1983, she presented in Houston with 33:04,23 min on an Irish record in the 10,000 -meter run.

Carey May Edge is a graduate of Brigham Young University ( BYU). She is married to a Canadian marathon runner Dave Edge and now has acquired the nationality of her husband. She is currently a trainer at the Tesoro High School in Las Flores ( Orange County, California).
