Carib Brewery

The Carib Brewery Ltd.. is a brewery based in Champs Fleurs, Trinidad and Tobago. The company belongs to ANSA MCAL, a trinidianischen investment company. The brewery produces the two best-selling beers Trinidad, Carib and Stag.

History

In order to reduce the dependence of Trinidad from Zuckeran and oil degradation, was founded in 1947 at the instigation of Sir Gerald Wight, the Caribbean Development Company Limited (CDC). A spin-off of the CDC was the Carib Brewery, initially with 7 employees. In September 1950 came the first trinidianische beer, Carib stock, on the market. The beer is still available today, is sold in large parts of the Caribbean and is the market leader in Trinidad. Through acquisitions Carib acquired in 1957 the monopoly on beer production in Trinidad. In the 70s Carib expanded and increased its output to 250,000 hectoliters per year. 1973 has been put on the market with Malta Carib, a root beer, the first non- alcoholic beverage. In 1985 he was with Shandy Carib first beer mixed drink. In 1987, the equipment was modernized by the Steinecker Maschinenfabrik, so that the ejection mark was surpassed 1,000,000 hectoliters per year for the first time. In the period following the beverage business was internationalized. On one hand, distribution and licensing agreements were concluded with foreign producers such as Diageo drinks or InBev for Trinidad and Tobago. On the other hand, was started abroad with the export of private labels. For this new production facilities were established: Since 1997, the Carib Brewery since 2002, the Carib Brewery exists Grenada St. Kitts and Nevis.

Furthermore, there is a distribution agreement for Heineken.
