Carl Alstrup

Carl Marius Alstrup ( born April 11, 1877 Copenhagen Sundbyvester district, then the district Tårnby, Denmark, † October 2, 1942 in Snekkersten, Helsingør Kommune ) was a Danish actor, director, screenwriter, theater director and singer.

Biography

Alstrup debuted in 1896 as a member of a Danish theater group during a guest performance in Oslo. From 1896 to 1904 he was as a traveling theater actor in Denmark go. In the period 1904-1911 was Frederik Berg teater busy and 1911-1913 on Centralteatret, at the Scala teatret he worked from 1913 to 1922 and from 1923 to 1928 with and was engaged from 1922 to 1923 at the Betty Nansen teatret. From 1928 he was also director of the theater Sønderbro teater.

As a singer Alstrup reached in his time also a greater attention. Among his well known songs included: Jeg Kysser Deres hånd, Madame ( I Kiss Your Hand, Madame ) and Bobby, you have må ONDT i Haret. The best known was at that time the song " almonds på Risten " of 1936.

Alstrup was also known for his numerous engagements in many silent films and performances in a number of highly regarded at that time revues, with songs and skits. He experimented in his time with productions to color films long before they appeared on the market, but at that time his inventions were not patented. Alstrup was also involved in the production of some sound films, as in the following: The kloge someone from 1937, 1940 vagabonds, 1941 forbryder in En and Peter Andersen. As a film actor, director and scriptwriter, he participated also in many other Danish film productions.
