Carlene Carter

Carlene Carter ( born September 26, 1955 as Rebecca Carlene Smith in Nashville, Tennessee) is an American country music singer.

Carlene Carter, daughter of June Carter and Carl Smith, continued in the tradition of The Carter Family in the third generation. After marriage of her mother with Johnny Cash she looked at performances of the Carter Family with as a background singer. 1976 was to hear her voice for the first time on a recording of her stepfather.

At age 16, she married Joe Simpkins, the marriage was two years later divorced shortly after the birth of daughter Tiffany Anastasia. Career
