Nick Lowe

Nick Lowe (born 24 March 1949 in Walton -On-Thames, England ) is an English songwriter, bassist, singer, and record producer.

Career

Nick Lowe began his career in the English pub rock scene in the early 1970s. He was a member of the band Brinsley Schwarz, who in 1975 broke up. He was greatly influenced by Jim Ford, which he took as musical role model.

In the late 1970s he came to prominence as a solo artist, including in the New Wave scene, as well as producer of the Pretenders and Elvis Costello a name. 1979 married Nick Lowe Carlene Carter, daughter of June Carter Cash and stepdaughter of Johnny Cash, with some songs he recorded and produced. The marriage ended in divorce in 1985, but Lowe remained close friends with the Cash -Carter clan.
