Carlo Aymonino

Carlo Aymonino ( born July 18, 1926 in Rome, † July 3, 2010 ) was an Italian architect, city planner and architectural theorist. Aymonino was one of the major post-war Italian architects and urbanists. He is considered the rational architecture in Italy.

Life

Carlo Aymonino studied at the University of Rome. Since 1951 he had his own office in Rome, next he practiced from 1951 to 1963, a teaching of architecture at the University of Rome. In 1963 he became a lecturer in 1968 and professor in 1974 Dean of the School of Architecture IUAV in Venice. Since 1980 he was a consultant architecture of Rome. He designed the living quarters in Gallaratese in Milan and the University of Pesaro.
