Carlos Obligado

Carlos Obligado ( born May 21, 1890 in Buenos Aires, † February 3, 1949 ) was an Argentine writer and translator.

Obligado come from a very wealthy family; his father was Rafael Obligado, " the poet of Paraná " and Pedro Miguel Obligado was his younger brother. He studied philosophy at the Universidad de Buenos Aires and was able to successfully complete this study with a PhD. He then got a job in the state administration, which he maintained even regardless of political changes ( coup by José Félix Uriburu ). Later he was appointed the Academie Argentina de Letras her secretary and as such, he was entrusted with the management of the Instituto de Literatura Argentina " Ricardo Rojas ". At the age of almost 59 years, Carlos Obligado died on February 3, 1949 in Buenos Aires and found his final resting place.
