Carolyn Leckie

Carolyn Leckie ( born March 5, 1965) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish Socialist Party.

Leckie attended Adelphi Secondary School in Glasgow and St. James College of Nursing and Midwifery, where she was trained as a midwife. She was, and later worked for the trade union UNISON as a midwife in Rutherglen.

In the Scottish Parliament elections in 1999 Leckie was on the third place in the regional election list of polling Region Central Scotland and thus failed to reach the Scottish Parliament. At the general election in 2001 she was a candidate for the constituency of Glasgow Springburn. She received only the third highest number of votes and received no mandate for the lower house. Under the following 2003 parliamentary elections candidate Leckie for the constituency of East Kilbride, but again only the third highest number of votes could join up. However, due to the election result she moved on the election list of the Central Scotland region for the first time in Parliament. She stood on the parliamentary elections in 2007 on the first list position of the Scottish Socialist Party. Nevertheless, it was not possible to defend their mandate it.
