Carvin

Carvin is a commune with 17,102 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) in the Pas -de- Calais, in the Nord -Pas -de -Calais. It belongs to the district Lens, capital is (Chef -lieu ) of the Canton of Carvin and a member of the Communauté d' agglomà d' Henin- Carvin.

Geography

The community Carvin is in northern France, between Lille and Lens. The channelized Deûle (also: Canal de la Deûle ) forms the southern boundary of the municipality Carvin, to which the former mining settlements Cité Saint -Paul and Saint -Jean Cité belong. Also a part of the village Carembault belongs to Carvin, hence the unofficial name suffix -en- Carembault.

Carvin is bordered to the north by Annœullin and Carnin, on the northeast by camphine -en- Carembault, to the east by Libercourt, on the southeast by Oignies, to the south Courrières and urine, on the southwest by Annay- sous-Lens, Estevelles and Pont -à- vendin, on the west by Meurchin and to the northwest by provinces.
