Casimir of Koźle

Casimir III. von Cosel (also Casimir of Bytom and Cosel; Polish Kazimierz Kozielski; Czech Kazimír Bytomsko - Koselský; * to 1312, † 1347 ) was Duke of the Duchy of Bytom part Cosel. He came to the Silesian Piast branch of Bytom.

Life

His parents were Duke Władysław of Bytom and Cosel and Beatrix, daughter of Margrave Otto V of Brandenburg, widow of Schweidnitzer Duke Bolko I. When after the death of Ratiborer Duke Lestko the at him pledged Cosel Casimir's father fell back, it rendered this his eldest son Kasimir. On the exercise of its sovereign rights as Duke of Cosel only a few messages received. It is known that he refused to pay Peter's Pence and was therefore excommunicated.

Casimir died unmarried and without issue 1342-1347. His Duchy Cosel fell to his step- brother Boleslaw / Bolko which connected it with his Duchy of Bytom.
