The Castello di Rivoli - Museo d' Arte Contemporeana is a museum and exhibition venues for contemporary art near Turin (Italy).
History
The Castello di Rivoli, built on the foundations of ancient buildings, became the property of the Savoy in 1280. End of the 17th century it was destroyed by French troops and then designed by the architect Michelangelo Garove, by Filippo Juvarra new. The Turin located on a hill in front, built in terracotta brick building remained unfinished. After decades of neglect in the late 1970s, the reconstruction of the residence was started and inaugurated in December 1984 with the exhibition Ouverture. Among the personally invited by the then director Rudi Fuchs artists were among other exhibits of Carl Andre, Donald Judd and Bruce Nauman as well as leading artists of the Arte Povera, such as Jannis Kounellis, Mario Merz and Michelangelo Pistoletto. The artists of the Land Art Harnish Fulton and Richard Long were represented as well as Joseph Beuys and his work Olive Stones and Lothar Baumgarten Yurupari - Rheinberg room. The restoration deliberately accentuate the unfinished character of the building.

Program
Today is in the baroque palace is a museum for contemporary art, which is funded by the Piedmont Region, the City of Turin and from private sponsors.
The museum has an extensive collection of modern and contemporary art since the 1960s, with an emphasis on the Arte Povera, compiled. It will take place four to five exhibitions a year. The museum also organizes guided tours, lectures, film programs, symposia, and a museum education program. The museum has a movie room for 60 and a conference hall for 120 visitors. The nearby Turin, a bus shuttle service is set up.
Current Director is the American curator Carolyn Christov- Bakargiev who had recently conducted the 16th Biennale of Sydney ( 18 June to 7 September 2008). She was artistic director of Documenta (13 ), which took place in Kassel from June 9 to September 16, 2012.
