Saint Cataldo ( Italian: San Cataldo ) (c. 600 in Ireland) was, according to legend Bishop of Taranto.

On returning from a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, he should have come to Tarentum and have been there ordained a bishop. He was buried in the Cathedral of San Cataldo. The body was in 1094 during the reconstruction efforts after the destruction by the Saracens, found again. Then the cathedral was consecrated him.
