Cauca River

The Río Cauca is a river in British Columbia and extends between the central and the western Cordillera of the northern Andes.

The Río Cauca has its origin in the high plains of Sotara near the city of Popayán ( Cauca ). Near the town Mompós it empties into the east parallel Magdalene, whose biggest tributary he is. With a length of 1180 km, it is almost the same length as the Magdalena to the junction, because of its narrower catchment area he leads but on average only about half of water.

The Río Cauca is used in the Salvajina dam to generate electricity.
