Centenary, Zimbabwe

Centenary is a 1175 m high place, with about 4,000 inhabitants and a district with about 24,000 inhabitants in the province of Mashonaland Central, Zimbabwe.

Centenary has two schools, a hospital and a military airfield in poor condition. It has its own water supply from mountain springs, which should be improved with EU funds. Agriculture, especially the cultivation of tobacco, and wood carving are the sources of revenue in this sparsely populated area. In the years 2002-2004 witnessed this district floods, which destroyed crops and houses destroyed. Incidentally, north of Centenary begins the waste into the Zambezi Valley and thus the wilderness that was one of the main areas of fighting in the Civil War. This wilderness can be distinguished between the Zambezi Valley and a line between the following locations: Nyamapanda, Mount Darwin, Centenary, Mhangura, Kaori, more in the middle between Gokwe and Siabuwa to Dahlia on Gwayi River.
