Central Highland (Japan)

Chūō - Cochin ( Jap.中央 高地, dt " central highlands " ) is the central part of the geographical region Chūbu in the middle of the main island Honshu of Japan.

It includes the two prefectures of Nagano and Yamanashi, and the northern and eastern part of Gifu Prefecture. The exact definition varies and includes Gifu either the mountains and mountains, the former territory of the historical province of Hida in the north or Tono (ie East Nōshū ) in the southeast.
