Central University of Technology

The Central University of Technology CUT short, is a technical university in Bloemfontein in South Africa's Free State Province.

Technikon Free State opened in 1981 with 285 students in a former trade school. Since 1988 continuously buildings were purchased and expanded the campus. In 2004, the CUT university status. 88 % of students are black, the proportion of women overall in 49%, 94 % of students come from South Africa.

Organization

The CUT is headed by a Vice-Chancellor and Principal, the management are in addition two deputy vice-chancellor, a managing director and the audit officer. The Registrar shall be representative and symbolic tasks, the Office is currently done Boet Troskie, a producer, screenwriter and actor. The line is the University responsible, which sets the guidelines and is responsible for financial planning and academic affairs.

The University is located on a campus in Bloemfontein. It consists of four faculties:

  • Faculty of Economics
  • Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology
  • Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences
  • Faculty of Humanities.

The faculties are divided into schools.
