Česká Kubice

Česká Kubice ( German Bohemian Kubitzen ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eleven kilometers southwest of Domažlice in the Upper Palatinate Forest ( Český les ) near the border of Bavaria and belongs to the Okres Domažlice to.

Geography

Česká Kubice is located at the foot of Spálený vrch ( 667) in the headwaters of Medvědí Potok ( Plass villages Bach). To the northwest rises the 1042 meters high Čerchov ( Schwarzkopf ). West of the village road 26 between Horšovský Tyn and Furth runs in the woods. The place is the border station of the railway Domažlice - Cham ( Oberpfalz). Furthermore, there to Bavaria the road border crossing Folmava - Furth im Wald / Sheep Mountain and hiking transitions Stary Spálenec-Prennetriegel/Daberg and Ovčí vrch ( Sheep Mountain ) high street.

Neighboring places are Babylon in the north, Pasečnice, Pelechy and Filipova Hora in the northeast, Spáleneček, Nový Spálenec and Stary Spálenec in the east, in the southeast Daberg, Nová Kubice, Horni Folmava and Dolni Folmava in the south and Pec pod Čerchovem in the northwest.

History

The corresponding rule for Chodenschloß place was first mentioned in 1697 as Koutsko. In 1740 he consisted of 17 houses and had 125 inhabitants. During the time of the Josephine reforms came 1764-1766, the Bavarian city Vollmau Upper Bohemia, where the parish church was built in 1787.

In 1861, the inauguration of the part of the Bohemian Western Railway between Chrast and Furth im Wald. 1930 had 387 inhabitants of the village. After the Munich Agreement of 1938 Bohemian Kubitzen was part of the German Empire and came first to the district market Eisenstein. 1939 lived 330 people in Bohemian Kubitzen. On 1 July 1940, the village became part of the county forest Munich. 1945 came back to Czechoslovakia. After the establishment of the Iron Curtain four border companies were stationed in Česká Kubice.
