Chaponnay

Chaponnay is a small French village with 3753 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Rhône Rhône- Alpes region.

The village was first mentioned in the 10th century with the words " in valle Camponiaco ". At the time of Guillaume Chaponnay was the mayor. until December 31, 1967 was one of the community for Isère.

Since 1984 is twinned with the German town of Steinhausen an der Rottum.
