Charles Akonnor

Charles Kwablan Akonnor ( born March 12, 1974 in Accra ) is a former Ghanaian football player and current coach, who also has a German passport.

Club career

Akonnor came in 1992 along with Samuel Kuffour of Ghana to Germany. He played six years at SC Fortuna Cologne and moved to VfL Wolfsburg in 1998. There he developed over time to a service provider and was in the 2001/2002 season the team captain. He retired again to injury and had surgery in early 2003 at the knee. Then he no longer made ​​it into the team and moved in early 2004 to SpVgg Unterhaching. In 2005 he moved to AC Horsens in Denmark.

Akonnor played in midfield in Wolfsburg, Wolfsburg as a director and in the last season more than Zuarbeiter for Stefan Effenberg. In the year and a half in Unterhaching he played on the left wing and made with his pinpoint crosses for danger in the penalty box.

Coaching career

In early 2009 he took over the coaching job at Ghana Sekondi Eleven Wise FC first division, but was released there in February 2010.
