Charles Dullin

Charles Edouard François Marie Dullin ( born May 12, 1885 in Yenne, † December 11, 1949 in Paris) was a French actor, director and theater director.

Life

Dullin was founded by Jacques Copeau 1913 to his newly founded Théâtre du Vieux- Colombier. He later worked with its own theater company, before moving to Paris, the Théâtre de l'Atelier founded in 1921, in which he, inter alia, Luigi Pirandello 's dramas staged. In 1927 he completed his theater with the houses Louis Jouvet, Gaston Baty and Georges Pitoeffs together for association Le Cartel, which in the 1930s had a significant influence in the Parisian theater scene. In addition Dullin also emerged as a film actor.
