Charles Günther, Count of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt

Karl Günther Graf von Schwarzburg- Rudolstadt (* November 6, 1576; † September 24, 1630 in Crane field) was Count of Schwarzburg- Rudolstadt, Graf von Hohenstein, Herr von Rudolstadt, people mountain, Blankenburg, special Hausen and Arnstadt and belonged to the House of Schwarzburg

Life

Karl Günther was the eldest son of Count Albrecht VII of Schwarzburg- Rudolstadt and his wife Juliane, born Countess of Nassau- Dillenburg. Günther Ludwig I. and Albrecht Günther were his brothers. After the initial education through home teachers enrolled Karl Günther 1593 with 17 years at the University of Jena. He remained there until 1596 and moved in the summer semester 1597 at the University of Leipzig. 1598, he went to the Academy at Strasbourg, and remained there until probably 1600's. Melchior Junius His teacher praised in his Orationes Karl Günther as exceptionally diligent student.

After the death of his father in 1605 Karl Günther was for six years with the consent of his brothers, his successor. In 1612 it came into the county to a turning point. Karl Guenther was awarded at a pitch of Rudolstädter part. Albrecht Günther received the Ilmischen part, Günther Ludwig I. the Franks houses part. 1624 then exchanged Albrecht Günther and Ludwig Günther in Erfurt compared their parts. Karl Günther led in 1609 to build a school in Rudolstadt, which was inaugurated in 1611. On June 13, 1613 married Karl Günther Anna Sophia, a daughter of Prince Joachim Ernst von Anhalt. Together with his wife he was a great patron of Wolfgang Ratke.

1619, probably on September 5, took Prince Ludwig I of Anhalt- Köthen Karl Günther on the Fruitbearing society. He awarded him the company name of proliferating and the motto hundred times. As an emblem of his Turkish grain with distinct aufgetanen ears of corn grown (Zea mays L. ) has been covered. In the society of Köthen book the entry Karl Gunther found under No. 23

Karl Günther died on September 24, 1630 at the age of 54 years without issue. Legacy was his brother Ludwig Günther.
