Charles III, Duke of Savoy

Charles III. Called the Good ( il Buono ) ( II ) (* October 10, 1486 in Chazey -sur- Ain; † August 17, 1553 in Vercelli) was 1504-1553 Duke of Savoy, although the country in the period from 1536 to was ruled to his death by the French crown. He was also titular King of Cyprus and Jerusalem.

Charles was the younger son of Philip II " Lackland " and his second wife Claudine de Brosse, a family that made their claims to the Duchy of Brittany unsuccessfully argued.
