Charles Yeater

Charles Emmett Yeater (* 1861 in Sedalia, Missouri, † July 1943 in Sedalia, Missouri ) was an American politician and governor general of the Philippines.

In 1892 he became a member of the State Senate from Missouri for the Democratic Party and represented the 15th legislative district there. From 1909 to 1915 Yeater was a member of the Board of Curators of the University of Missouri.

On March 5, 1921, he was Vice Governor successor of Francis Burton Harrison as Acting Governor General of the Philippines. This office he held until the assumption of office of Leonard Wood on 15 October 1921.

In 1928 he represented the Philippines at the National Convention of the Democratic Party for the preparation of the presidential candidates.
