Charlestown Elevated

The Charlestown Elevated was a continuous tape a viaduct section of today's Boston Metro Orange Line in the State of Massachusetts in the United States. The route led from the rise on Canal Street near the Boston Garden on Charlestown to Everett. The construction of the line began in 1899, the first trains ran in June 1901 over the tracks.

The Orange Line was rerouted 1975 on a mixed ground and surface distance to Malden, the new route of the Washington Street Elevated followed in 1987. Shortly before the opening of the new route of the Orange Line on 7 April 1975, the range of Charlestown Elevated was born on 4 April 1975 closed.

Shortly after her retirement, the route has already been demolished. Remains of the bridge over the Mystic River are still standing north of the bridge of Route 99 at the Alford Street, and some pillars with different size are reminiscent of the rise on Canal Street. In the middle of the Charlestown Bridge beyond remains of elevation can be seen. The Tower C, which stood at the junction between the Charlestown Elevated and Atlantic Avenue Elevated was transferred to the Seashore Trolley Museum.
