Chattuarii

The Chattuarier (also: Hattuarier, Old English Hetware ) was a Rhine -Weser Germanic tribe that originally probably moved to Eder and Fulda in northern Hesse, in the first centuries after Christ but in the area of the lower Ruhr, the lip and the Münster region moved. The river name Hetter still reminds us of them. They were neighbors of Bructeri and Chamavi and joined with these and other tribes in the 4th century to the tribal Confederation of the Rhine Franks together.

According to them, the Hattuariergau was named, a medieval county in the Rhine-Frankish and Holy Roman Empire.
