Chazz Palminteri

Chazz Palminteri ( born May 15, 1952 in New York as Calogero Lorenzo Palminteri ) is an American actor and writer of Sicilian descent.

Life

Palminteri grew up in the Bronx. He graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School and studied since 1973, acting at The Actors Studio by Lee Strasberg. At the beginning of the 1980s, he appeared in several plays, in the second half of the decade in various television series such as Hill Street Blues, Matlock and fight against the Mafia.

Palminteri plays in the movie In the streets of the Bronx (1993 ) opposite Robert De Niro in the film Bullets Over Broadway ( 1994) alongside John Cusack and Dianne Wiest and in the film The Usual Suspects ( 1995) alongside Kevin Spacey, Gabriel Byrne and Benicio Del Toro. For his role in the film Bullets Over Broadway, he was nominated for film awards Oscar and Screen Actors Guild Award and won an Independent Spirit Award and the Sant Jordi Award.

In 1999 he took over in the film Falcone - In the crosshairs of the mafia directed by Ricky Tognazzi the role of Giovanni Falcone.

In the series Rizzoli & Isles, he can be seen since 2010 as a recurring guest role.

As an author Palminteri wrote the plays in the streets of the Bronx and the wedding day, which he adapted both to the scripts of the films.

Palminteri is married to Gianna Ranaudo since 1992 and has two children.
