Red Turtlehead ( Chelone obliqua )

The shield Flowers ( Chelone ), also known as snakehead or Miesmäulchen, a plant genus in the family of plantain plants are ( Plantaginaceae ). The botanical name is based on the Greek word χελώνα ( / Celona /, Chelone ), which means as much as turtle. In English, the names of the species " Turtle Head " translated: " turtle head ".

The home of the genus is North America, including Mexico. Several species are cultivated as ornamentals.

Description of the plant

Shield flowers are perennial, herbaceous plants. The against-constant leaves are simple.
