Chester Conklin

Chester Conklin ( born January 11, 1886 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, † October 11th 1971 in Van Nuys, California ) was an American actor.

Life

Chester Conklin came as vaudeville artists to California in 1913 and was hired by the Keystone Studios as an actor. In the same year he made ​​his first short film. His big mustache became his trademark. In 1914, he appeared in Making a Living. This was the first film with Charles Chaplin. With Chaplin at Keystone then he played numerous other films. The two had been friends since that time. Conklin got bit parts in films Chaplin's Modern Times and The Great Dictator. Chester Conklin was a busy comedian in the days of silent film.
