Chiang Khan District

Amphoe Chiang Khan ( Thai: อำเภอ เชียงคาน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the north of the province of Loei. The Loei province is located in the western part of Northeast Thailand, Isaan.

Geography

Adjacent counties and regions are ( from east clockwise): Amphoe Pak Chom the, Mueang Loei and Tha Li in Loei province. In the northwest, the province Sayaburi the Democratic People's Republic of Laos is located.

Major water resources are the following rivers: Mekong ( Thai: แม่น้ำ โขง - Maenam Khong, Khong River ), Lamnam Hueang ( Thai: ลำน้ำ เหื อง - Hueang waterway ) and Maenam Loei ( Thai: แม่น้ำ เลย, Loei River ).

Attractions

  • Kaeng Khut Khu ( Thai: แก่ง คุดคู้ - Spiral rapids ) - River rapids in the Mekong with multi-colored, smooth polished rocks.

Management

Amphoe Chiang Khan is divided into eight subdistricts ( tambon), which continued in 78 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Chiang Khan ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เชียงคาน ) consists of parts of the tambon Chiang Khan,
  • Khao Kaeo ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เขา แก้ว ) consists of parts of the tambon Khao Kaeo.

In addition, there are seven " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
