Pak Chom District

Amphoe Pak Chom ( Thai: อำเภอ ปากชม ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the north of the province of Loei. The Loei Province is located in the western part of Northeast Thailand, Isaan so-called.

Geography

Adjacent counties and regions are ( from east clockwise): Amphoe Sangkhom Nong Khai province, the Amphoe Na Yung Nam Som and the province of Udon Thani, and Amphoe Na Duang, Amphoe Mueang Loei and Amphoe Chiang Khan in Loei province Province. In the north, Vientiane Province is the Democratic People's Republic of Laos.

Major water resources are the following rivers: Mekong ( Thai: แม่น้ำ โขง - Maenam Khong, Khong River ) and Maenam Chom ( Chom - flow).

History

Pak Chom was born on September 1, 1067 initially as a small district ( King Amphoe ) was established when the three tambon Pak Chom, Has Khamphi and Chiang Klom were separated from Amphoe Chiang Khan. In 1971, Pak Chom got the full Amphoe status.

Management

Amphoe Pak Chom is divided into six subdistricts ( tambon), which continued in 53 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Pak Chom ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ปากชม ) consists of parts of the tambon Pak Chom,
  • Chiang Klom ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เชียง กลม ) consists of parts of the tambon Chiang Klom.

In addition, there are six " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
