Chibombo

Chibombo is a place and a district on a plateau in the extreme south of the Central Province in Zambia something. Alongside the tarmac road, 90 kilometers north of the capital Lusaka and 40 km south of Kabwe The town is located 1,150 meters above sea level. The district has 241 612 inhabitants ( 2000 census ).

Economy

Chibombe as Mazabuka, Choma and Monze since the mid- 1990s, the focus of the UN Food and Agriculture projects that small loans, crop diversification and marketing concern. This has resulted in the city and district to a remarkable recovery. The small loans are now fully repaid by the farmers. The indicated their economic consolidation. Revenues have doubled. Infrastructure

Chibombo has a dirt track, 1000 meters long runway, a primary school and a small hospital. In the village of grass huts dominate. In a collision with a train of Buses on 7 February 2013, 53 people die. The accident is one of the worst accidents in the history of Zambia.

Festivals

In October, takes place every year Kulamba Kubwalo Lenje Cultural Ceremony, a traditional festival of the resident tribe of Lenje.
