Chigmit Mountains

The Chigmit Mountains are a mountain range of the Aleutian Island chain on the Alaska Peninsula, Alaska, about 200 km southwest of Anchorage. They are located on the west coast of Cook Inlets and cover with a stretch of 195 km from north to south and 187 km from east to west an area of ​​14,662 km ².

The highest mountain of Chigmit Mountains and the Aleutian Island chain is Mount Redoubt with a height of 3108 m.

The Chigmit Mountains are the link of the Aleutian Islands to Alaska. They border on the north by the Tordrillo Mountains and to the northwest by the Neacola Mountains and created with the Mount Redoubt and Mount Iliamna two major composite volcanoes.

The Lake Clark National Park is part of Chigmit Mountains.
