Choi Suchol

Choi Suchol ( born May 13, 1958 in Chuncheon, Gangwon -do) is a South Korean writer.

Life

Choi Suchol was born on May 13, 1958 in Chuncheon in Gangwon -do. He studied French literature at Seoul National University. Since 1997 he has been Professor of Creative Writing at Hanshin University. He made his literary debut in 1981 in the Chosun Ilbo, when he won a competition with blind spot ( 맹점 ).

Choi Suchols style is considered to be modern, because it does not depend on conventional structures, such as, among others, the order of cause and effect. He delves into the boundaries between the conscious and subconscious and gives the language used and the style of writing as much attention as the content itself Choi Suchol represents a fundamental philosophical questions about the self and what is perceived outside of how sensitivity and perception of the affect awareness or perceptions and memories are represented by language.
