Chris Crawford (game designer)

Chris Crawford ( born 1950 ) began in 1979 a career as a professional game developers, first with Atari. His computer game Tanktics was the first commercially available computer strategy game.

In 1984 he published The Art of Computer Game Design a book about the development of computer games, which included a draft of a classification system for computer games.

1987 Chris Crawford founded the Computer Game Developers Conference ( CGDC ), the Game Developers Conference takes place every year since 1999 under the slightly modified name.
