After his obligation by NWA Total Nonstop Action Wrestling TNA Hard could win the X Division title by Amazing Red on May 14, 2003 and hold for three months. Then Harter had to cede the title in an Ultimate X match to Michael Shane.

On 7 January 2004 Harter next to Shane, Christopher Daniels and Low Ki took the second part of Ultimate X match of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and was allowed to win the X Division title for the second time. End of March 2004 the title was however withdrawn due to a real knee injury him.

With a victory against Shelley at Hard Justice Hard was appointed to the X Division title for the No. 1 challenger, who was held at this time of Senshi. Although Harter was allowed to win the match at Bound for Glory on October 22, 2006 and win the title in the short term, but only two weeks later, he had this item in an edition of iMPACT! return it to AJ Styles. However, on January 14, 2007 was allowed Harter win the title in a Triple Threat match against Jerry Lynn and Christopher Daniels again. Meanwhile Harter is united in a successful tag team with Alex Shelley. After an injury, the Harter drew upon in April 2011, he returned to the side of Shelley in March 2012. In May 2012, the tag team with Alex Shelley ended, as he left TNA. In a match at Impact Wrestling on June 14, 2012, Harter moved again to a torn ACL and was thus again several months. The title lost Harter on 20 June 2013 at the Impact Wrestling to Austin Aries. Just nine days later Harter won the title back and then traded it for a match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship one, which he won by Bully Ray on July 18, 2013.
