Christa Bonhoff

Christa Bonhoff is a German singer of vocal ranges and old mezzo-soprano, which is mainly active as an oratorio singer.

Life

Christa Bonhoff was born in Westphalia. She studied voice at the Hochschule für Musik in Hamburg Annie Schoonus. Already during her studies she was a member of the NDR Choir and received guest appearances at the Hamburg State Opera. The focus of her work is the concert singing.

She appeared as a soloist in recordings of Bach's Christmas Oratorio (2002) and St. John Passion (2006 ) with the conductor Michaela Prentl.

In 2002 she founded together with Monika Frimmer, Dante Diwiak and Peter Kooij a quartet named Tanto Canto, the rare songs a cappella as also performs with piano or ensemble.
