Christian August Gottlob Eberhard

Christian August Gottlob Eberhard ( born January 12, 1769 in Belzig, Electorate of Saxony, † May 13, 1845 in Dresden, Kingdom of Saxony ) was a German poet and writer.

Life

Eberhard studied at the University of Leipzig theology, the fine arts and finally since 1792 the literature turned to, staff to Wilhelm Gottlieb Becker Paperback and the recoveries were, took over in 1807 Rengersche bookstore in Hall and was here with August Lafontaine the monthly Salina ( Hall 1812-1816, 8 volumes) and single flutter roses (Hall 1817) out.

He also took over after his father's death the editor of the Yearbook of domestic devotion. In 1835 he turned to Hamburg. A trip to Italy led the work in Italy, as it appeared to me (Hall 1839, 2 volumes), a refutation of Friedrich Nicolai Italy, as it really is. Since 1842 living in Dresden, he died there on 13 May 1845. His grave is located on the inside of the New Town Cemetery in Dresden. The grave plate shows a design from his work Annette and the chickens. He also published under the pseudonyms hyssop Lafleur, Hilary rhyme Bold and Ernst Scherzer.

His poetic writings leaned against the older, deemed exemplary poet of the 18th century; he was in a sense still hot a student Gleim. Stay ends had success: Annette and the chickens (Hall 1822 25th edition Leipzig 1875), an idyll, which aroused share in adolescent life circles.

Eberhard has been added on December 31, 1806 in the Masonic Lodge to three swords in Halle, but which he left again because of disputes.
