Christian Clavier

Christian Clavier ( born May 6, 1952 in Paris) is a French actor and screenwriter.

Christian Clavier began his comedic career as co-founder of the comedy group Le Splendid. Together, he joined here on stage in programs with his former schoolmate Thierry Lhermitte, Gérard Jugnot and Michel Blanc. From the stage programs, the Les Bronzés movies emerged later.

Christian Clavier became known internationally through four roles:

  • The Jacquouille la fripouille / Jacquard from The Visitors, the sequel and the American remake Just Visiting,
  • The role of Thénardier in the TV miniseries Les Misérables - prisoners of fate,
  • The role of Asterix in the first two movies of the real comics,
  • The role of Napoleon in the eponymous television miniseries.

Clavier also works as a screenwriter since the 1970s.

In 2011, he was with the film Luckily it stays in the family his debut as a director.

His brother Stéphane Clavier is a director.

Christian Clavier was married to Marie- Anne Chazel, in the Visitors and Time Knights - In Search of the Sacred Tooth took over the role of Ginette. With her he has one child.
