Christian Friis Bach

Christian Friis Bach ( born April 29, 1966) is a Danish economist, university professor and politician from Det Radical Venstre (RV).

Life

After leaving school at Kalundborg high school, he began in 1986 to study agricultural science at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University Copenhagen and graduated in 1992 with a Master's from. He then completed a postgraduate degree in International Economics at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University of Copenhagen and received his PhD in 1996 on " International trade in agricultural goods, trade liberation and impact on developing countries ."

Following Bach 1996 was initially an assistant professor of economic development at the Institute of Economics of the University of Copenhagen, before he was then a professor of international economics and economic development at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University 1999-2005 Associate. In addition, he was both a journalist and as a visiting professor and worked from 1997 to 2001 Chairman of Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke, a Danish Association for International Cooperation.

Between 2005 and 2010 he was International Director of Folkekirkens Nødhjælp, an aid organization of the Danish Church. Subsequently, he was appointed on October 3, 2011 as the Minister for Overseas Development in the government of Prime Minister Helle Thorning- Schmidt.

On November 21, 2013 he resigned.
