Christian Hauswirth

Christian Hauswirth ( born December 23, 1965 in Saanen ) is a retired Swiss ski jumper.

The international career of Hauswirth began on 30 December 1982 with the opening event of the Four Hills Tournament 1982/83 in Oberstdorf. He stayed with his first tour but without success and also denied not advance any further in the 1982 season / 83. For the 1983/84 season he started again at the Four Hills Tournament, but failed to reach the top places again. It was only on 22 January 1984 he was in Sapporo, Japan in ninth place for the first time in the top ten and jump with it at the same time in the points. In the second jump he reached the large hill with space 13 a total of three World Cup points. The end of the season, when he finished in 52nd place in the overall standings, Hauswirth contested at the 1984 Winter Olympics, where he finished in 48th place on the normal hill.

The 1984/85 season began with similarly poor results in the Four Hills Tournament as the year before. That's why he broke after the tour from the season. Also in the 1985/86 season he played only the lack of success tour.

The 1986/87 season began successfully for Hauswirth. So he reached for the season opener in Chamonix on the normal hill with 4th place, the best individual result of his career, which he could repeat over the next three years only once. However, it was also the only competition of the season, in which he could win World Cup points. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1987 in Oberstdorf Hauswirth jumped on the normal hill on the 41st and on the large hill on the 32th Place.

The 1987/88 season was the best season of his career. Already at the Four Hills Tournament 1987/88 he was able to achieve in the overall standings to fourth place and also reached the World Cup points in all jumping. The best individual result he achieved this in Oberstdorf with the 4th Place. Even after the tour, he was again able to win World Cup points at the World Cup competitions in Gstaad and Engelberg. At the Olympic Winter Games 1988, he was then again in the squad Switzerland and jumped on the normal hill on the 48th and on large hill on the 27th place. In the team competition, he reached the 8th place together with Gérard Balanche, Christoph Lehmann and Fabrice Piazzini. After the games, he jumped again in the season finale in Lahti in the points and finished the season in 22nd place in the World Cup overall standings.

In the seasons 1988/89 and 1989/90 he was of his achievements, not able to go and jumped only rarely in the World Cup points. After the 1989/90 season Hauswirth finished then his active ski jumping career.
