Fabrice Piazzini

Fabrice Piazzini ( born November 9, 1965 in Le Sentier ) is a retired Swiss ski jumper.

On December 30, 1983 Piazzini played his first jump in the ski jumping World Cup. At the opening event of the Four Hills Tournament 1983/84 he reached the 17th place in Oberstdorf and only just missed the points. Only in the first World Cup competition after the tour on January 11, 1984, he was able to win in Cortina d' Ampezzo with number 15 his first World Cup point. Also in Sapporo, Japan, he jumped back into the points.

At the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo Piazzini reached on the normal hill the 53rd and on the large hill to the 40th place. In his only World Cup competition after the Olympics he achieved in Planica 7th place the single best result in the World Cup.

The World Cup 1984/85 season began with a 13th place in Lake Placid. However, He then completed unsuccessfully, the Four Hills Tournament 1984/85 and then took a break from competition. Only on 21 December 1986, he jumped again a World Cup competition in Chamonix, reaching the 8th place and once again won the World Cup points. However, the Four Hills Tournament was 1986/87 as unsuccessful as the tour in 1984/85. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1987 in Oberstdorf, he jumped on the normal hill on the 45th and on the large hill on the 23th Place. After the World Cup he was able to improve its performance significantly and reached in all three World Cup competitions in Falun, Planica and Oslo World Cup points. At the end of the season, he finished as the 34th place in the overall World Cup standings.

1988 was Piazzini again in the squad for the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary. On the normal hill he jumped up on the 17th and on the large hill on the 43rd. In the team competition it together with Gérard Balanche, Christoph Lehmann and Christian Hauswirth able to advance on the 7th Place. In his only World Cup competition after the games he could collect in Meldal again with number 12 World Cup points.

For the 1988/89 season Piazzini jumped only a World Cup in the Four Hills Tournament 1988/89 and reached the 70th place in Innsbruck. He then ended his ski career.
