Christian Tröger

Christian Alexander Tröger (born 6 October 1969 in Munich) is a German former swimmer who won three bronze medals at Olympics and twice world champion.

Career

In 1990, Christian Tröger German vice-champion in the 100m freestyle and won in 1991 with the 4x200 -meter freestyle relay at the World Championships in Perth / Australia the gold medal. Again as German vice-champion in the 100 meters freestyle and fourth about 200 meters freestyle to Tröger qualified for the freestyle relays at the Olympic Games in Barcelona. He also joined more than 100 meters of freestyle, finishing in 49.84 seconds to seventh place. In the 4x100 -meter freestyle relay, he won bronze behind the seasons from the United States and the CIS. 1993 brought Tröger the first time the German championship title in the 100 meters freestyle and won this year also the Overall World Cup (Category: Freestyle Sprint). At the World Championships in Rome, he took the 100 meters freestyle in fifth place, with the 4x100 -meter relay teams ( freestyle and documents) reached Tröger two fourth places. 1996 Tröger won his third title in the 100 meters freestyle and secured again this year, the overall World Cup. At the Olympic Games in Atlanta, he finished in tenth place and won both freestyle relays the bronze medal.

1997 Tröger Short Course World Champion in the relay. At the European Championships, he won two silver medals with the 4x100 -meter relay teams. Also in 1997, won Tröger his only individual medal when he was at the Universiade in Catania third in the 100 meters freestyle.
