Christina Dodd

Christina Dodd (* July 14 ) is an American author of romance novels. She currently lives in Texas.

Biography

Christina Dodd is the youngest of three sisters whose father died before she was born. Already in her childhood she loved reading. She attended college in Boise, Idaho, where she met her future husband Scott. After graduating, she worked as a technical designer in an engineering firm and designed, among other sawmills. During their breaks, they often read romantic stories and thought of alternate endings. After 1980 her daughter Shannon was born, she decided to stay at home and start writing. In the next ten years she wrote three stories as they casually worked in a bookstore. Through contact, she learned the wishes of the reader know. Her first two manuscripts were dismissed. Only Candle in the Window was released after the story had the Golden Heart Award from the Romance Writers of America, a prize for unpublished works won. The publisher Harper Collins took the manuscript and published it in 1991. This book won more awards and is still in print.

Due to the conservative attitude of the editor against love scenes, many of her early books are truncated. It was only when she moved to Avon, their books were published unchanged. The first book in Avon was A Well Pleasured Lady, which also meant a change to historical stories.

Your heroines are often based on the character of her mother. The books have now been translated into several languages ​​and were on the bestseller lists of the New York Times, USA Today and Publishers Weekly. Her story My Favorite Bride of 2003 was 15 weeks in the top 15 of the New York Times bestseller list. The Romance Writers of America awarded her the RITA Award, the highest price for romantic writers in America.

In 2003, she released her first contemporary romance.

In the meantime, she lived with her family in California and Idaho.
