Christophe Saioni

Christophe Saioni ( born February 10, 1969 in Nice) is a French former alpine skier. He specializes in the disciplines of giant slalom and Super -G.

Biography

Saioni came since the early 1990s in the World Cup used to winning the first World Cup points but passed several years. This, he succeeded on 18 December 1994, rank 21 in the giant slalom in Val d'Isere. In the winter of 1994/95 he also won two European Cup races, which he finished in 5th place in the giant slalom standings. In the World Cup season 1995/96 he was able to classify seven times in the top ten. The only podium finish of his career he scored on 9 March 1996, when he was third in Hafjell. In the following years Saioni could not go on from this success, only in November 1999 he managed another top 10 ranking. His last World Cup races he contested in February 2003. Until 2009 he took sporadically participate in FIS races and national championships.

For a short time Saioni was married to the French alpine skier Christel Pascal; the couple divorced in 2002. Since 2007 he has been at the French Ski Federation as manager active and supports a junior.
